I’d like to point out a new initiative that the U.S. Embassy is launching with the Web Summit called Going Green for Social Good.  Dynamic Irish businesses and social entrepreneurs will compete for a chance to engage with the 30,000 tech leaders at the Web Summit in Dublin from 3-5 November 2015. Two finalists will be offered speaking slots at the Web Summit and semifinalists will receive free tickets to the Web Summit. Special consideration will be given to proposals that have a sustainability or environmental focus.

Who Should Apply?

  • Social entrepreneurs, especially those with a sustainability or environmental focus;
  • Individuals, entrepreneurs, or organizations that have designed a product or service with a clear environmental benefit, which is at least at a seed stage of development;
  • Clean tech companies and other small and medium enterprises that deliver a measurable environmental benefit within their value chain;
  • NGOs and charities that have an innovative social entrepreneurship or environmental initiative that has delivered a measurable impact on society.

Note: This initiative is only available to citizens or legal residents of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

How to Apply:

Organizations or individuals should apply online at http://dublin.usembassy.gov/news/events-outreach/good-ideas-social-entrepreneurs-at-the-summit.html.  The deadline is 21 September 2015.
