The Social Enterprise Grant Scheme Awards 2017 is an event to celebrate the winners of this year’s scheme and also to highlight and encourage social enterprise development in Dublin City and beyond.

Ardmhéara Mícheál MacDonncha (Lord Mayor of Dublin) will present awards to five social enterprises which are carrying out innovative and dynamic work in communities and areas across Dublin City. Each of the social enterprises will be showcased and presented with cheques of varying amounts to invest in their organisation and operations.

At this year’s event, Ireland’s first Social Enterprise Toolkit will be also launched by Ardmhéara Mícheál MacDonncha. The toolkit is an extensive and first of its kind resource to help communities and individuals set up a social enterprise in Ireland. It has been developed by the Irish Social Enterprise Network and is sponsored by Community Finance Ireland, Dublin City Council and Dublin South City Partnership.

The event programme is:

09:30 – Arrival – Tea / Coffee & Light Breakfast

10:00 – Presentation of Awards & Launch of Social Enterprise Toolkit

11:00 – Networking Time

11:30 – Event End

Catering at the event will be provided by Third Space – a Dublin City based social enterprise and previous winner of the awards.

Further information about the Social Enterprise scheme:

The scheme was first established in 2015 through a collaboration between Dublin City Council, Inner City Enterprise (ICE) and the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Dublin City. Dublin City Council and ICE recognised that there was a gap in the market for social enterprises in accessing grants to kick-start the creation and development of social enterprises in Dublin City.

Now in its third year, the scheme has expanded and at this years’ Awards, five social enterprises and organisations will be showcased who were selected as winners by an evaluation committee. The programme and competition aims to increase awareness of the important contribution that social enterprise makes to building communities, creating employment and developing the skills of the participants who get involved.

The funding awarded to the winning social enterprises will allow them to further develop their plans and activities and bring the benefits of their social enterprises to more individuals and communities.

If you would like to come to the awards, please send an email to info@socent.ie with the Subject Awards and we will aim to get you on the list.
