Community Employment

Community Employment (CE), managed by the Department of Social Protection, provides supported employment and training to long-term unemployed people. Work is provided mainly in community organisations and CE has become a major part of the community and voluntary sector workforce in Ireland.  If you would like to be considered as a CE sponsor/host organisation, you should contact your local Intreo Office. Intreo is DSP’s local network of employment support offices and replaces the former Fás offices.

The CE sponsor manual allows Sponsors of Community Employment Placements to assess their impact and deliver the employee the best experience in the placement. Welfare.ie has a lot more information on taking on employees but check out this resource for further help:
