ENSIE raises the alarm on social spending cuts and the future of the European Social Fund - SocEnt.ie

From ENSIE

Amid growing political and socio-economic challenges across the EU, ENSIE strongly advocates for increased public and social investment to support vulnerable groups and promote inclusive employment.

ENSIE is particularly concerned about:

  • Potential cuts to social spending in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF)
  • The risk of losing the European Social Fund (ESF) as a strong, standalone tool for social inclusion

To address this, ENSIE has:

  • Co-drafted and endorsed as one of the main signatories “Keep What Works: 8 Success Factors for a Stronger ESF+” with the EUFunds4Social alliance. The full statement is available at this link.
  • Published clear calls for a qualitative MFF for WISEs, accessible here.
  • Endorsed the Social Platform’s position on the MFF

Together with its partners, ENSIE continues to call on EU institutions to “Keep what works” and safeguard investments in people and social inclusion.
