Social Enterprise Tender: Irish Prison Services seeks Cafe in Dublin - SocEnt.ie

Aligned with the objectives of the Department of Justice & Equality social enterprise strategy, the Irish Prison Service, published their first ever market testing process specifically seeking expressions of interest from social enterprises to be the independent operators to run a cafe in central Dublin.

The cafe will employ suitably qualified people with criminal convictions who have found it difficult to gain employment as a result of their past criminal activity, as part of a wider staff team. The former St.Pat’s Visitors’ Centre, beside Mountjoy, is to be provided free of charge to the selected cafe operator and the Irish Prison Service will make available suitable memorabilia to retain a prison theme in the facility.
