Salary: 37,000 – 40,000

Job Description:

Inner City Enterprise (ICE) are seeking a motivated person with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills for the role of Enterprise development officer. The successful applicant will work as part of a small team providing information and support on a one to one basis to individuals considering self employment. They will coordinate a range of additional supports including training and networking events and have the ability to build strong relationships with ICE clients as well as ICE’s community and corporate partners.

Key Duties:

  • Advising clients on all aspects of self-employment
  • Support with business plan preparation/market research
  • Working with clients, assessing and approving applications for the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance Scheme through DEASP
  • Assist clients with loan or grant funds applications
  • Organising and facilitating training, networking and workshop events
  • Maintaining a database of enterprise clients and entering details on tracking systems as well as maintaining contact with these clients.
  • Promote ICE through our social media platforms
  • Assist with report writing when required
  • Represent and build strong partnerships for the organisation within relevant networks

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant 3rd level qualification and/or 2 years’ experience of working in a similar role or in a business development position
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of organisations including State agencies, community groups and corporate sponsors
  • A knowledge of the social enterprise sector
  • Experience working within the community sector and/or working with long term unemployed desirable but not essential
  • Excellent admin skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & good social media skills are desirable
