About this Event

In this throwaway world we live in, how can we tackle the problem of fast fashion?

If you’re a problem solver, a creative, an entrepreneur or a fashion designer, join us in the innovative Dogpatch labs on the 13th and 14th of February for the hackathon of the year.

Come along to tackle the fast-fashion crisis: with support and guidance from entrepreneurial industry leaders from Sustainable Fashion (Geraldine Carton and Taz Kelleher), Proudly Made in Africa (Vikky Brennan), Swapsies (Clodagh Kelly), the Rediscovery Center (Arran Murphy), Enactus (Laura Dennehy),Community Reuse Network Ireland (Claire Downey), The Mobile Coach (Susan Moran),NCAD (Derek McGarry), and Irish Social Enterprise Network (Chris Gordon).

Powered by Dublin City Council, in association with OXFAM Ireland, this Hackathon is the first one in Ireland to focus on the problems created by #FastFashion.

Organized by award winning tech quartet Sophie Benoit, Pádraig Reidy, Caitlin Hafer, and Lena Klein, in association with Designers In The City, the HackFastFashion Hackathon is designed to help everyone invested in our planet generate ideas to save it.

Now more than ever, the impacts of climate change and mass production are being felt – and fast fashion is a major contributor. Items are thrown away instead of repaired, and the average amount of times a garment is worn is just five. Without a replaceable planet, we must repair our approach to fashion.

You need no experience to participate – and everyone is welcome (especially students!). At the HackFast Fashion Hackathon, you’ll join like-minded people and disruptors to create teams and start coming up with sustainable solutions.

Tickets are selling fast, so grab one while you still can.
