WISEs contribution to the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights principles

September 15th, 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

The event will be in English but a interpretation in French will be insured if necessary.

Presentation summary:

On November 2017, the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) was proclaimed at the Social Summit in Gothenburg (SE) by all EU institutions. The EPSR is about delivering new and more effective rights for citizens. It builds upon 20 key principles and structures around 3 categories:

  • Equal opportunities and access to the labour market,

  • Fair working conditions,

  • Social protection and inclusion.

The Pillar is a reference framework to drive reforms at national level. It serves as a guide for the renewed process of convergence towards better working and living conditions in Europe. It aims to bring fairness to every citizen’s daily life, whether they are learning, working, looking for a job or in retirement; living in a city or in a rural area; irrespective of gender, racial or ethnic origin, age, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief. Implementing it upholds the commitment, made at the highest level, that people are at the centre, regardless of change, and that no one is left behind.

The objective of this webinar is to showcase good practices related to the contribution of Work Integration Social Enterprises to the implementation of the EPSR principles but also to collect inputs that will feed ENSIE’s position paper and recommendations for the contribution to the European Commission’s Action plan on the implementation of the EPSR that is planned to be published in early 2021.

Plan of the session:

  1. What is the European Pillar of Social Rights?

  2. EPSR principles: WISEs contribution and ENSIE recommendations

  3. WISEs good practices

  4. Q&A session
