Join The Wheel and NICVA for a very special event with the Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
Over the past year, we are excited that the iCommunity Shared Practices Hub came into being because it is a direct response to the shared challenges faced across the Island of Ireland and beyond. Collaboration amongst civil society organisations on this island is not new but the changing structures and frameworks across the two jurisdictions of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland necessitates a new approach. A joint initiative of the Wheel and the NICVA (Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action), iCommunity has been funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs Peace and Reconciliation fund and the Department of Communities, NI with support from the Shared Island unit of the Taoiseach’s office.
We would like you to come and hear about the results of a series of conversations with the community and voluntary sector convened over the last six months on themes chosen that best lent themselves to all-island responses. Challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss, rural connectivity and development, digital inclusion and remote work, and how to scale responses including social enterprise to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic and other emerging crises.
A light lunch will be provided.
