ENSIE: What does it mean to be a WISE in 2022 - SocEnt.ie

From ENSIE

On Friday, 18th November, ENSIE, its members and partners gathered in Brussels for the “Being a WISE in 2022” event. This annual gathering of the sector’s representatives at EU level was crucial as it is an opportunity to take stock of the vitality of work integration social enterprises (WISEs) in Europe as well as their trends and challenges.

The event consisted of four different sessions. First a presentation of the B-WISE “Report on current situation of skills gaps, especially in digital area, in the WISEs sector” made by EURICSE and Lichtwerk. It gave to the participant an overview of the sector and its situation in Europe, it was followed by a reaction from the European Commission. You’ll find a more detailed summary of this part of the event on the project website.

Just after the WISE Manager Award Ceremony took place, which showcased three excellent examples, Rambler Studio’s, CookLook and Floare de Cires of WISEs working towards the integration of young people, the focus of this year’s WISE Manager Award.

Gorik Ooms, policy advisor at HERW!N, gave us then some food for thought on WISEs and their role in the transition(s).

To conclude the meeting, the social economy taskforce of Social Platform presented its position on the social economy, including the social economy action plan to which the European Commission answered.
