We are delighted to announce an additional €3.5 million in funding from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to support projects for people with disabilities through the Disability Participation and Awareness Fund!

Five next-in-line projects that applied under the 2023 application process were selected to receive a share of €1.1 million. We can’t wait to have these organisations join our group of 2023 awardees. Congratulations to the Disrupt Disability Arts Festival at Project Arts Centre, Cumas New Ross, SOS Kilkenny, Paralympics Ireland, and No Barriers Foundation.

€2.4 million in funding is available for up to 10 new projects through the Disability Participation and Awareness Fund 2024. The 2024 Fund is now open to applications from organisations focused on supporting people with disabilities to participate in community life.

The SEFIT Challenge Fund launched and is now open to applications!

This Fund focuses on just transitions, aiming to eliminate barriers and achieve an equitable and inclusive future. It brings people together to drive transformative change for marginalised communities in Ireland and Italy. Co-funded by the European Union, SEFIT is overseen by Rethink Ireland and Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini in partnership with Cork City Council and the Municipality of Turin.

We at Rethink Ireland are excited to facilitate the Irish SEFIT Challenge Fund, which is open to applications from social innovations working in the green and digital transitions in Cork City.

At the recent LAMA Awards 2024, we sponsored the Best Social Enterprise of the Year category. We know social enterprises develop solutions to Ireland’s most pressing social issues, and our nominees impact communities across the country.

Congratulations to Education for Sustainability, for winning the Best Social Enterprise of the Year award!

Education for Sustainability is an awardee of the Social Enterprise Development Fund 2023, aiming to solve the lack of climate literacy education in schools. So far, they have reached over 200 schools nationwide with their innovative approach that teaches students while training teachers.

Congratulations to the other fantastic nominees: Change Clothes Crumlin, Living Life Counselling and Lough Ree Access For All. We are proud to support the incredible work you do.

The Disability Participation and Awareness Fund 2024 is looking for change-making organisations focused on supporting people with disabilities to participate in community life. This includes social, cultural, arts and sports participation, as well as promoting disability awareness and training. You can apply to the Disability Participation and Awareness Fund 2024 until Friday, 5th April 2024 at 1pm. The SEFIT Challenge Fund brings together social innovators, local authorities, and communities drive transformative change in the green and digital transitions for marginalised communities. The Irish Challenge Fund is now accepting applications from social innovations in Cork City. You can apply to the SEFIT Challenge Fund until Tuesday, 16th April 2024 at 1pm. The Social Innovation Regeneration Fund aims to build the capacity of social innovations with proven impact and a desire to scale. This Fund has been set up to support previous Rethink Ireland awardees who have encountered a temporary core funding gap and are seeking support to revisit their business model and improve their financial sustainability.
