National Call for Applications 2024

Applications for our 2024 Impact Programme will open next Wednesday, 13th of March. There are five places available and €100,000 in direct funding available on this nine-month programme, aimed at high-potential social entrepreneurs who are looking to bring their organisation to the next level.

Internal News

In team news, we bid a fond farewell to Gráinne O’Hogan as she heads on her next venture. We’re super grateful for all the energy and love she brought to Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and we wish her all the best in the future!

We welcomed Maggie Hyland as our Director of Operations. Maggie will bring senior leadership experience from the hospitality industry and more recently in Corporate Services in the charities sector to lead our governance, finance, HR and digital systems to support the strategic vision of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland. Outside of work, Maggie enjoys cooking and travelling with her family and loves upcycling old furniture.
We are also delighted to introduce you to our two newest members of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland’s dedicated Board of Directors.

  • Alex Cooney is the CEO and Co-Founder of CyberSafeKids – a national organisation empowering children, parents, schools and businesses to navigate the online world in a safer and more responsible way since 2015. Alex is an alumni of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland 2016 Elevator Programme and was one of our 2018 – 2020 Scale Partners.
  • Tony Hanway is the CEO of Virgin Media Ireland. Before joining Virgin Media Ireland Tony spent a decade at O2 / Telefonica where he held a number of senior roles including Consumer Director O2 Ireland, Consumer Director Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, Chief Commercial Officer of O2 Deutschland and CEO O2 Ireland.

We have two opportunities to join our team at Social Entrepreneurs Ireland. We are delighted to be supported in the development of an exciting new role: Data, Insights, and Research Manager. Secondly, we will shortly be hiring a Director of Development to lead the development and implementation of our income generation strategy which supports our vision of accelerated social change through the power of people.
