GreenBoost4WISEs project, a European Union-funded initiative aimed at promoting sustainability among Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISEs) and Social Economy Enterprises (SEEs).
- Project Overview:
GreenBoost4WISEs seeks to integrate sustainable practices into the operations and businesses of WISEs and SEEs.
Key project objectives:
- “Upskill and train towards staff and management of WISEs to green their operations”
- “Encourage the uptake and adoption of sustainable measures and innovative solutions”
- “Foster cooperation between WISEs and other relevant stakeholders”
- Second Stage Call:
This call focuses on providing financial support to 60 WISEs/SEEs for:
- Upskilling & Training: Customised training courses to equip WISEs/SEEs with the knowledge and skills to adopt greener approaches. (€3,000 funding per beneficiary)
- Green Innovation & Advisory Services: Expert advice and guidance to help WISEs/SEEs develop and implement sustainable business strategies. (€4,800 funding per beneficiary)
Activities period: October 2024 – June 2025
- Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a legally registered WISE or SEE.
- WISEs should primarily focus on the social and professional integration of disadvantaged individuals.
- SEEs must adhere to at least two out of three principles: reinvestment of profits for social benefit, prioritizing people and purpose over profit, and democratic governance.
- Employ less than 250 people and have an annual turnover not exceeding €50 million.
- Be based in one of the 27 EU countries.
- Apply as individual entities, not as networks.
- Have no conflict of interest with project partners.
- Supported Activities:
The call encourages projects focusing on, but not limited to:
- Financial tools for green transition
- Sustainable technology and digitalization
- Greening internal processes
- Developing green strategies and action plans
- Environmental certifications and sustainability standards
- Green branding and marketing
- Circular economy and waste management
- Green office practices and smart technology
- Sustainable mobility and eco-friendly packaging
- Clean energy and energy-saving initiatives
- Green cleaning, maintenance, and gardening
- Sustainable agriculture and agri-food practices
- Crafts and creative recycling
- Sustainable tourism and environmental management
- Financial Support and Service Providers:
- Selected WISEs/SEEs will receive direct funding and will be responsible for contracting service providers.
- Providers must be listed in the GreenBoost4WISEs Database by October 1, 2024.
- WISEs/SEEs unable to find suitable providers within the database can propose external providers, subject to an eligibility check.

- Applications must be submitted online by September 30, 2024, at 1 p.m. CEST.
