Work Integration Social Enterprises key actors at the European Social Forum - SocEnt.ie

From our partners in ENSIE

ENSIE actively participated in the European Social Forum 2025, held on 20–21 March in Brussels, reinforcing its commitment to building a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable Europe through the promotion of WISEs. The event, organised by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU, brought together key stakeholders to discuss how to advance the European Pillar of Social Rights and shape a socially responsible future for the EU.

ENSIE contributed to the panel on access to employment for vulnerable groups, where it highlighted the impact of WISEs in creating meaningful, supportive jobs and promoting social innovation. The network called for stronger EU-level recognition of WISEs, improved access to funding, and the use of tools like socially responsible public procurement to scale up their impact. ENSIE also reiterated the need for policies that ensure no one is left behind in the twin green and digital transitions.

The Forum was a key opportunity to spotlight the role of social economy actors in delivering on the EU’s social ambitions. ENSIE will continue to advocate for the inclusion of WISEs in all relevant EU strategies and policy frameworks.
